All at the ripe age of 19, Amber Colvin of Tallahassee, Florida, has already made a major mark on the world and promises to continue doing so.

same day payday loans

While racing cars throughout the year Amber still finds the time to go to College, Model for Magazines, Volunteers endless hour at multiple charities events, and still works to support herself.

Throughout 2011 and 2012 Amber has been in several Magazines (Outdoor Women Magazine,Tallahassee Women Magazine, and the cover of Lake Norman Women Magazine), interviews for multiple news papers, Radio Stations, and TV news broadcasters through the South East, and yet she still finds time to volunteer and multiple children’s, educational, and cancer charities. Amber currently volunteers with; St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Speedway Children’s Charities, NASCAR Foundation, Lungstrong Foundation, B.R.A.K.E.S., Make A Wish Foundation, Stocks For Tots, Locks of love, and 1080 Foundation.

Amber just can’t seem to do enough for other people while still trying to achieve her own dream of racing at the higher levels of NASCAR. She always has time for her fans, both on and off the race track, and she always has time to help others along her way. Amber is simply a people magnet, whether at a charity function, autograph signing, or at the track.

Amber finished off the 2012 Summer Shootout at Charlotte Motor Speedway in grand fashion! Amber came from the middle of the field to finish the last three races with a 1st, 5th, and 2nd place finishes. Amber showed great car control, determination, and consistency.

Two years in a row Amber has managed to complete the Summer Shootout in a very competitive fashion while incurring less than $500.00 worth of repairs for the entire series. That in itself is a massive feat. We are looking very much forward to bigger and better things for Amber in the very near future. Amber has been referred to, by some very big names in the racing industry, this year as the “best driving female they have ever seen”. Amber is currently trying to put together the Sponsorship to Run the NASCAR Whelen series at Hickory Motor Speedway and to run 4 ARCA races at Toledo, Winchester, Iowa, And Kentucky in 2013

Eventful Off Season For Amber

Against her wishes, Amber’s race season has ended for 2012 but while trying to get things lined up for the 2013 season the off season has started out to be very interesting.

Amber got her first job at Victory Lane Karting in Charlotte while her dad moved back home for the winter to be with the rest of the family. For the first time Amber is on her own and she just started college.

Amber was approached by Unlimited Outdoors, a worldwide hunting show, and was asked to be a quest on the show. Amber was invited to go hunting this fall or winter with other guest celebrities. Although Amber had never been hunting before, and has only shot a firearm three times in her life, she quickly accepted and looked very much forward to the hunt.

On September 26th Amber got a phone call asking if she could be in Atlanta Ga. to go on a gator hunt on the 27th. This 5’6″ 115 lb young lady jumped at the opportunity and drove to Atlanta on The 27th. They left Atlanta to go to Alabama for the hunt and the fun began. First they caught a 5′ Gator and let him go. Then she wrestled with a 7 or 8 foot gator for about 15 minutes before he finally got off. But as she does on the race track, Amber stayed focused and patient and finally at about 1:30 am came up on a 11 foot monster of a gator. Amber was given a crossbow, a weapon she has never handled, and took the shot. And a shot it was, hitting the gator just behind his kill spot, but close enough to do the job.

In her first ever hunting trip Amber had bagged an 11 foot Gator!

We would like to thank Wesley, Reggy, Jeff, and Chris of Unlimited Outdoors for the opportunity of a lifetime. The show will air in the fall of 2013. Stay tuned to see what else this girl gets into during the off season. It promises to be an interesting Fall and Winter, as there is no telling what this girl will accomplish! THIS IS ONE TRULY AMAZING YOUNG LADY!

Amber finished off the Summer Shootout at Charlotte Motor Speedway in grand fashion! Having gotten off to a lack luster start with a team that was not getting the job done in the shop or at the track, Amber made the decision to change teams after race 6. Amber missed race 7, which was a double points race, and that knocked her out of contention for the points series.

Not to be forgotten or looked over, Amber was determined to prove that she was the competitor that she is, and promptly won the first race with the new team. Amber came from the middle of the field to win that race and then got another 5th place finish in race 2 with the new team.

But race 3 with Chase Pistone, and the final race of the Shootout, proved that those two were the norm and not the exceptions. After fighting a tight car and finishing 2nd in her heat race, while in a heated battle with the points leader, Amber showed great car control, determination, and consistency.

Amber started 6th in the feature after the invert and dropped to as low as 8th at one point while trying to get to the bottom. Amber then simply drove her way to the front. In doing so, Amber passed the top three cars in the national points series and caught the leader with 2 1/2 laps to go. Amber took a shot at passing the leader with 1 lap to go and he did a great job of protecting his lead. As he held Amber to the bottom of the track in turn 3 Amber caught the apron and got a little loose. That allowed him to pull Amber 3 or 4 car lengths off the corner. But Amber wasn’t through yet! Amber caught the 03 again going into turn 3 of the final lap and tried to turn under him out of 4. It was a close race to the checker but the 03 had the advantage and Amber finished a very well driven and hard earned 2nd place in the final race of the Charlotte Summer Shootout.

Starting 10th on a new setup, Amber drove her way to the front in 13 laps. While running in 3rd Amber drove under the second place car in turn three and the leader got a little loose coming off of turn 4. That was all the opportunity that Amber needed. As she made the pass, on the low side, the third place car got into him and turned him. As he went around he caught the right rear of Amber’s car but she managed to hold onto it.

On the restart, with 6 laps to go, Amber found that the car was not driving like it was before the contact and had to change her line to accommodate for the change in the car. In the last 5 laps Amber pulled out to a 8 car lead to take the checkered flag in her first win at the Charlotte Summer Shootout.

Upon Amber’s arrival to the grandstands for her scheduled autograph session, the fans flocked to Amber in such numbers that the tower called Security to move everyone outside the grandstands for safety purposes. Once again, there were fans lined up on Amber 4 to 5 people wide and 150 feet deep. Amber had a blast signing autographs and taking pictures for over two hours. After going through almost 700 hero cards and pictures Amber returned to the track for her second feature and again showed that she was a force to be reckoned with.

In race two Amber started 9th and dodged a wreck in turn 1 on the first lap. After moveing to the outside to avoid the wreck Amber got stuck on the outside and it took her 8 laps to get to the bottom. Once on the bottom Amber started working her way to the front. While she appeared to be the fastest car on the track, she simply ran out of laps as she turned under the 4th place car coming out of turn 4 and was about 1 foot short of taking 4th at the checkered flag. Amber recorded a hard fought and well earned 5th place finish in the second race of the night.

June 26th started out as a very good day. Starting on pole in her heat race, Amber led the first six laps, in her second outing in 8 months. The national points leader was nipping at her heals for all six laps (He has over 40 races run since March). Garbo was able to catch her slowly but didn’t have enough to pass her unless she made a mistake. On lap 7, a bump by Garbo into the corner and a very slight bobble and he stuck it under in turn three and Amber had to give him room. Not to be beaten Amber returned the favor in turn three of lap 8. A small bump into turn three and Amber turned under Garbo coming out of 4 and they raced to the checkered flag. A race won by Garbo by less than 12 inches.

After the invert for the feature Amber started 3rd instead of 4th. As Amber turned under the leader to pass on the second lap there was a wreck at the back of the field and the caution came out. Amber started in 3rd again and followed the leader into turn one. The 5th place car evidently forgot to brake going into the corner and drove right through Amber’s back bumper. This turned him and Amber sideways in turn one in front of the field. They were both hit by numerous cars, as a result of this miscue by the #45. For the restart after this fiasco, Amber restarted 17th and drove her way to 7th in about 5 laps. As she was passing the 7th place car he pinned Amber to the grass on the inside of turns one and two. (this slowed them both down) He then tried to pin Amber down again in turn 3 and the car behind Amber caught them and again drove straight into her bumper as a car in turn 4 was spinning. This turned Amber in front of traffic again and she was again hit by numerous cars. Amber restarted 15th with a Green, White, Checker finish. With 4 bent rims and her toe knocked out badly, Amber gained two positions to finish 13th.

Amber had the fastest car on the track and was the car to beat. Unfortunately some of these guys would rather wreck you than beat you, but that is part of racing and is to be expected….so on to the next one and hopefully a better finish.
